Alice in Wonderland Quilt Block #3
Maybe I should have pressed this a little better because it’s looks a little wrinkly. I do like Alice’s eyes on this one — the facial features are always the most challenging, especially the eyes. There is still no plan for how I’m going to set these blocks — whether I’m going to make alternate blocks or some kind of sashing. I can never seem to completely plan a quilt ahead of time — I guess I am always too excited to get started.

So many things in this one are striking! The wood grain on the door, her eyes and her hair and the rocks are all very nice textures! And the white space in the center, really makes a nice composition! I would be anxious to get started on it, too!

Stitching the face can be quite tricky. But you did a beautiful job with her. Wonderful addition to the Alice’s stack!

I was wondering how you were doing on your Alice blocks and I see that you are still progressing. I am looking forward to seeing the project complete.

Beautiful stitching Martha! These blocks have so much detail in them..they’re really interesting. I agree..faces are the hardest, but you’ve done a wonderful job of capturing Alice’s expression.

Alice has THE BEST HAIR! You did do a nice job with her expression and I also like how the the water (or tears) has movement. The three you have done look great together. Seems like with their shape and content, the matter of how to set them will resolve as you get more done. Probably will come to you in a flash!
