Last week when I was taking photos of some of the things I’ve made for my sister, Sally, she brought out this little doily which I had forgotten about. My mother-in-law also showed me a doily on one of her bedroom walls that I made for her. When I saw them, I did remembered making them, but when I wrote this post about the doily I crocheted for my mother, I said it was the only doily I ever made. It was a long time ago (the late 70’s), but still — it’s not like I made tons of doilies, so you’d think I would remember.

As always – so impressed! That is a lot of intricate work.
Really pretty! I am guessing it is this type of pattern that use those tee-tiny little crochet hooks! When I see crochet like this, I think that it must take concentration waaaay beyond my capabilities! So pretty, though!
WOW! I can really appreciate the workmanship that went into this BEAUTIFUL doily now. I haven’t done much of anything this last week because of rotten allergies, but the sun is out and I am FINALLY feeling normal. ANYWAY, I’m working on the crochet edge for my tatting, so I have been reading about filet crochet and here you are with a perfect example! Thank you for the inspiration when I needed it~
Oh, that’s a beautiful piece of handwork. I remember crocheting snowflakes out of white thread when I was in my 20’s, but I always did doilies out of yarn (needless to say, it spoiled the effect !)
What a wonderful keepsake this is……….and she’s taken such good care of it !
