As promised, I have scanned a few of my green Depression fabrics. Some of these tend a little more blueish, while others are more yellow, but none of them are very Christmasy looking. Even so, they’re pretty great.
Brenda just asked me how many of the prints are feedsacks, so I thought I would add that none of them are feedsacks. They are all tightly woven dress-weight cottons. My camera is capturing a 2″ square of each print.
Love all of these fabrics too. How many of these are feed sacks?
Brenda…the farmer’s dotter
Lots of fun prints! I love the one on the bottom that looks a little like robots, and the overlapping circles/spots!
lol @ elephant conductor. These are some amazing prints.
Love the elephants!
Amazing selection – these are wonderful!
What a treasure you have! I was recently putting together a dozen patterns of 30’s repo fabrics to make a baby quilt for my new greatnephew, and was so suprised to actually see how few are not “flowery” and would be suitable for a boy’s quilt.
Oh, those little colonial people having tea! (And the dogs, of course!)
These are fabulous Martha! I wish a fabric company would find your post and ask to scan and print these cute prints.
There are some nice repros available out there..but they just don’t quite capture the beauty of the originals.
When my parents got their first house my mother painted 3 of the dining room walls chartreuse with one wall very dark green. She had curtains that were a grass cloth print with those 2 greens and a bit of red on a white background. She said it was very chic.
I was tickled to see the print with those two greens together. 🙂
These are beautiful! I wish someone would do reproductions of prints this nice! Thank you for sharing.
