When I started this blog….
I only knew a couple of quilters — their quilts and methods were very different from mine.
My sisters were the only other people I knew who did hand embroidery.
When I shopped at the local quilt store for binding or backing fabric, the staff would make comments like “Why would you want to hand stitch a quilt?” or “I can’t believe you are using that old fabric.”
I didn’t know anyone who made quilts by hand, or shared my love of vintage fabric…….
but now I do, and it’s so nice.
Thank you, everyone.

Congratulations on 300 posts! I follow your work and get a lot of inspiration, so thanks for sharing!
Congrats. It is nice to meet other quilters online. 🙂
And I never thought of using coloring books for embroidery designs! I am so glad you started blogging!
Congratulations on the milestone!
What a nice picture!
Congratulations on the 300th post! I, too am so happy to meet other quilters with a similar taste here in blogland. And I am very happy that I found your blog, it is now one of my favorites!
When I started quilting 20 years ago, there wasn’t hardly any reproduction fabrics available. That started me on a 20 year search. It is always nice to find someone with that interest.
Congratulations, Martha!
I look forward to you every post… they cheer me up all the time.
Your work is very inspiring and I’m in awe of the love and care you put into each little stitch 🙂
Congratulations Martha on 300 posts!
They are always a joy to read – pity it takes away from sewing time isn’t it?
Congratulations on 300 posts! I didn’t know anyone else who hand-embroidered or hand-quilted either when I first started – blogging has surely opened up all kinds of doors, hasn’t it?
Hooray for 300 posts! I am so happy that you are in my blog reader. 🙂
Happy Anniversary! Keep on keeping on!
I found you this evening for the 1st time and I’ll be back! Congrats on your accomplishment. You have an inspiring blog.
Keep it up
I LOVE reading your blog and sure wish you lived next door!
I don’t always comment but read every post . Your work is inspiring and makes me want to buy antique quilt tops to take apart and make quilts with antique fabrics too! I love all the embroidery you do and all the antique books you share with us. One of these days I will make a quilt inspired by one of your posts of antique books.
I am looking forward to your next 300 posts!
keep sharing
Kathie
Thankyou for blogging and congratulations on your 300th post! I didn’t know any quilters either when I first bought my computer – seeing other quiters work is so important! I will get around to blogging eventually – I need to get a few quilts finished first:)

And it’s nice to know you right back!
Congratulations on 300 posts! I totally agree-blogging is great-its so nice to “meet” people who share your interests and I love how I’m always learning new things too.
Martha-I just returned from vacation and one of the first things I did (after laundry) was to check your site, which I have enjoyed so much, and I saw you had reached 300 posts. Congratulations to a kindred spirit!
Congratulations! I’m glad you’re out here in ‘Virtuality.” I don’t know anyone who enjoys hand embroidery (aside from counted cross-stitch), except for my Internet friends and acquaintances. I’m SO grateful that you and others like you are out there. 🙂
I am happy that I found your blog. Congratulations. there are some crazy quilters out there in blog land who embroider their seams and stitch motifs, but that may not be what you like.
Congrats on your 300th post. Please…please, keep going on!
I enjoy your blog whenever I get time to read – I pop in about once a week.
The internet is great for finding the common link among us….I don’t feel so “strange” when I see that there are others that enjoy the same pastimes (or obsessions – lol) as I do.
You have been so generous in sharing your talents and resources, Thank You!
Wow! 300 posts! I skip around in your archives sometimes – it’s like finding hidden treasures. It’s wonderful that you have shared so many of your projects and vintage finds through your blog. I’m SO HAPPY that I stumbled across your blog last year. I mention your posts so much around the house that my husband knows who Martha is. You are always a day brightener. Thank you, Martha!
ME TOO, never knew anyone who loved old fabric, old quilt designs, old embroidery patterns etc. It is funny to find someone who has the same tastes as you do. 🙂 Glad to meet other vintage lovers. 🙂 AND I LOVE YOUR WORK, I wanna be YOU WHEN I GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoy all your posts and I too do embroidery on quilts, all my family enjoy the quilts and I am glad that I found your site.
